We came so close”¦.almost, but still that’s no cigar
But still that’s so insane,
That I came to change
In 8th grade, I really didn’t know the standards
But the burden behind it was that the heart couldn’t handle
All the present bullying, all the present picking
Thought you’d be my friend, keep my heart ticking
We came so close to standing together
Through the 4 seasons, for you, I stand in any weather
So close to the body, flock of the same feather
I gave it all to you when I wrote that letter

We came so close”¦.almost, but still that’s no cigar
But still that’s so insane,
That I came to change
My sophomore year, I learned the most
About treating a lady right in the bedroom the most
But what I didn’t realize was my true mistake
That I treated life like lunch off the dinner plate
There’s only one person out there, and that’s you
But to the untrained eye, you didn’t have a clue
But after years, we moved on, the years went by
No choice at the moment, but to let the love die
I watch my life past me by and by
Without grasping it by my hands, I see myself die
Everyday in this story, my heart keeps no lie
Morality is my standard, it lives till I die
