Deceived By My Eyes

Deceived by my eyes, and all I was told I should see
Opinions not mine, the person they taught me to be
One night in the dark,  a vision of somebody I know
And out of the darkness, I heard, a voice say, “I’m You”

I am your vision, I am the thought of your soul
Kept in the dark, now I began a story untold
Deceived by my eyes, I saw darkness instead of light
Displeased by my stories, all I did was fuss and fight

I fought with my past, fought hard in my mind alone
I fight my life alone, fight it hard, fight it strong
Surrounded by thousands, my loneliness drowns all
No matter what I do, one thing I’ll stand tall

If you close your eyes, your life, a naked truth revealed
Dreams you never lived, scars never healed
In the darkness, light will take you to the other side
You’ll find me waiting there, if you just close your eyes
